According to the&nbsp;United States Census Bureau, Alamo Heights has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.8&nbsp;km2), all of it land. As of the&nbsp;2000 U.S. Census, there were 7,319 people, 3,197 households, and 1,819 families residing in this city. The&nbsp;population density&nbsp;was 3,964.9 people per square mile (1,527.5/km2). There were 3,460 housing units at an average density of 1,874.4 per square mile (722.1/km2). The racial makeup of this town was 93.80%&nbsp;White, 0.56%&nbsp;African American, 0.33%&nbsp;Native American, 0.85%&nbsp;Asian, 0.01%&nbsp;Pacific Islander, 2.81% from&nbsp;other races, and 1.64% from two or more races.&nbsp;Hispanic&nbsp;or&nbsp;Latino&nbsp;of any race were 13.55% of the population.

Alamo Heights

Hill Country Village is a suburb of San Antonio with a population of 738. Hill Country Village is in Bexar County and is one of the best places to live in Texas. Balcones Heights is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,941 at the 2010 census. Balcones Heights is considered by some locals to be a district of San Antonio, despite the fact that the community was incorporated in 1948 to avoid annexation into the city. Balcones Heights is an enclave of San Antonio since San Antonio city limits now completely surround it. Balcones Heights is located at&nbsp;29&deg;29&prime;23&Prime;N&nbsp;98&deg;32&prime;53&Prime;W (29.489729, -98.547927),&nbsp;9 miles northwest of Downtown San Antonio. According to the&nbsp;United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6&nbsp;km2). None of the area is covered with water.
As of the&nbsp;census&nbsp;of 2000, there were 3,016 people, 1,437 households, and 708 families residing in the city. The&nbsp;population density&nbsp;was 4,674.6 people per square mile (1,791.5/km2). There were 1,539 housing units at an average density of 2,385.4 per square mile (914.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 69.66%&nbsp;White, 5.37%&nbsp;African American, 1.56%&nbsp;Native American, 1.13%&nbsp;Asian, 0.03%&nbsp;Pacific Islander, 17.41% from&nbsp;other races, and 4.84% from two or more races.&nbsp;Hispanic&nbsp;or&nbsp;Latino of any race were 69.60% of the population. There were 1,437 households, out of which 27.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 26.2% were&nbsp;marriwd couples&nbsp;living together, 18.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 50.7% were non-families. 43.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.10 and the average family size was 2.92.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 23.7% under the age of 18, 14.5% from 18 to 24, 33.1% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.1 males. The median income for a household in the city was $21,452, and the median income for a family was $27,074. Males had a median income of $21,209 versus $18,944 for females. The&nbsp;per capita income&nbsp;for the city was $13,529. About 18.1% of families and 21.1% of the population were below the&nbsp;poverty line, including 23.6% of those under age 18 and 15.2% of those age 65 or over.

Combine that with Beacon Hill&rsquo;s plentiful shops and eateries, and you quickly understand why the neighborhood has gained popularity in recent years &mdash; a trend that&rsquo;s likely to continue.

Bexar County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,714,773, and a 2019 estimate put the population at 2,003,554. It is the 16th-most populous county in the nation and the fourth-most populated in Texas. Its county seat is San Antonio, the second-most populous city in Texas and the seventh-largest city in the United States. Bexar County is included in the San Antonio&ndash;New Braunfels, TX metropolitan statistical area. Bexar County includes Government Canyon State Natural Area in the northwestern part of the county. Bexar County was created on December 20, 1836, and encompassed almost the entire western portion of the&nbsp;Republic of Texas. This included the disputed areas of eastern New Mexico northward to Wyoming. After statehood, 128 counties were carved out of its area.
The county was named for San Antonio de B&eacute;xar, one of the 23 Mexican municipalities (administrative divisions) of Texas at the time of its independence. San Antonio de B&eacute;xar&mdash;originally&nbsp;Villa de San Fernando de B&eacute;xar&mdash;was the first civil government established by the Spanish in the&nbsp;province of Texas. Specifically, the municipality was created in 1731 when 55&nbsp;Canary Islanders&nbsp;settled near the system of&nbsp;missions&nbsp;that had been established around the source of the&nbsp;San Antonio River. The new settlement was named after the&nbsp;Presidio&nbsp;San Antonio de B&eacute;jar, the Spanish military outpost that protected the missions. The presidio, located at the&nbsp;San Pedro Springs, was founded in 1718 and named for&nbsp;Viceroy Balthasar Manuel de Z&uacute;&ntilde;iga y Guzm&aacute;n Sotomayor y Sarmiento, second son of the Duke of&nbsp;B&eacute;jar&nbsp;(a town in Spain). The modern city of San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas also derived its name from San Antonio de B&eacute;jar.
In 2016, for the third consecutive year, Bexar County increased the appraised value of businesses and residences. Most will hence find their&nbsp;property taxes&nbsp;will increase for the year, with higher payments for some beginning as early as November 1. The latest 7.5 percent increase in valuation follows an 11 percent rise in 2015, and a 7 percent jump in 2014. The 2016 total value for all property in the county is approximately $163 billion, or $13 billion more than in 2015. County residents express dismay to Mary Kieke, the deputy chief appraiser. "People are very upset. The tax system is absolutely broken," she said.

Bexar County

Boerne is a city in and the county seat of Kendall County, Texas, United States, in the Texas Hill Country. Boerne was named in honor of German author and publicist Ludwig B&ouml;rne. The population of Boerne was 10,471 at the 2010 census, and in 2018 the estimated population was 17,106.
Boerne came into being as an offshoot of the Texas Hill Country&nbsp;Free Thinker&nbsp;Latin Settlements, resulting from the&nbsp;Revolutions of 1848 in the German states. Those who came were&nbsp;Forty-Eighters, intellectual liberal abolitionists who enjoyed conversing in&nbsp;Latin&nbsp;and who believed in utopian ideals that guaranteed basic human rights to all.&nbsp;They reveled in passionate conversations about science, philosophy, literature, and music.&nbsp;The Free Thinkers first settled&nbsp;Castell,&nbsp;Bettina,&nbsp;Leningen,&nbsp;and Schoenburg in&nbsp;Llano County. These experimental communities were supported by the&nbsp;Adelsverein&nbsp;for one year. The communities eventually failed due to lack of finances after the Adelsverein funding expired, and conflicts of structure and authorities. Many of the pioneers from these communities moved to&nbsp;Sisterdale, Boerne, and&nbsp;Comfort.
As of the&nbsp;census&nbsp;of 2000, 6,178 people, 2,292 households, and 1,613 families resided in the city. The&nbsp;population density&nbsp;was 1,061.1 people per square mile (409.9/km2). The 2,466 housing units averaged 423.5 per square mile (163.6/km2). The&nbsp;racial makeup of the city was 94.76% White, 0.36% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 3.29% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 19.44% of the population. Of the 2,292 households, 36.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.6% were not families. About 25.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the city, the population was distributed as 26.0% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 84.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.1 males.

Boerne

Bulverde, Texas is a city in Comal County. Bulverde dates back to the period 2,500 to 600 B.C. when the Native Americans lived in the area. The area was known for their arrowheads known as Bulverde Point, which can still be found in the city today. In 1880&rsquo;s, Bulverde was a great stopping point for travelers. Travelers come to Bulverde from all over to escape the demanding city lifestyle. The tranquil, soothing atmosphere in Bulverde is difficult to find in todays society. Bulverde, Texas is known as home to MLB Baseball Player Jason LaRue, musician Augie Meyers, and former republican member of the Texas House of Representatives Nathan Macias.
Opportunities for recreation, adventure, and fun are abundant in Bulverde. Bulverde is home to amazing cycling and running roads. The hilly terrain is filled with remarkable views of Texas Hill Country. Live oak trees and blooming wildflowers often line the roads of Bulverde. Bulverde is only an 18 minute drive away from Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch. This state park is one of the most beautiful parks in Texas. Visitors can take pleasure in tubing, hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, picnicking, and canoeing. Honey Creek State Natural Area is a guided walking tour in Guadalupe River State Park. Individuals on the tour can see two miles worth of incredible flora and fauna. Enjoy a traditional Texas rodeo every Saturday night at Tejas Rodeo Company. The Tejas Rodeo Company does an excellent job of providing a thrilling and entertaining experience for all of their guests. Enjoy this family friendly atmosphere filled with bull riders, barrel racers, mutton buston, and dancing.

Bulverde

Canyon&nbsp;is a city in, and the&nbsp;county seat&nbsp;of,&nbsp;Randall County, Texas, United States. The population was 13,303 at the&nbsp;2010 census. It is part of the&nbsp;Amarillo, Texas,&nbsp;metropolitan statistical area. Canyon is the home of&nbsp;West Texas A&amp;M University&nbsp;and&nbsp;Panhandle&ndash;Plains Historical Museum, and the world-famous outdoor musical drama&nbsp;Texas.

Castle Hills, The town borders Uptown San Antonio to the west and is about 7 miles (10 miles driving distance) north of Downtown San Antonio. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2), of which, 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Castle Hills is an independent municipality, completely surrounded by the city of San Antonio. It is bisected into a northern and southern half by interstate highway loop I-410. It is located at the southern end of Northwest Military Highway, the northern end being located at U.S. Army Camp Bullis.

Castroville is a city in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,680 at the 2010 census. Prior to 1893, Castroville was the first county seat of Medina County. Castroville is known for its influential Alsatian-Texan architecture, people, and culture. Most Alsatians that came to Castroville spoke Alsatian (a dialect of German origin integrating Celtic, Yiddish, and French words). To say Castroville is purely French would not be true, because it has a long history of Alsatian culture and language kept alive by its residents as well. Castroville was established in 1844 by Henri Castro, an empresario of the Republic of Texas, who brought several dozen European families to the area from Alsace and adjoining Baden to populate his land grant along the Medina River 20 miles (32 km) west of San Antonio. The first colonists disembarked at Galveston on January 9, 1843. They were taken by ship to Lavaca Bay and traveled overland to San Antonio, where they took shelter in abandoned buildings until the Texas Rangers were prepared to escort them to their land and protect them from hostile Indians. On September 2, 1844, the first colonists arrived at Castro's land grant on the Medina River. From 1849, Castroville, on the Medina River was a water stop on the San Antonio-El Paso Road and a stagecoach station on the San Antonio-El Paso Mail Line and San Antonio-San Diego Mail Line. After a few hard years, the town and surrounding farms flourished; although for generations, the residents remained insular. In Castroville's first century, a visitor would be more likely to hear Alsatian&mdash;a dialect spoken in Europe before Standard German was prevalent&mdash;than English spoken in the town's homes, stores, and taverns. Modern Alsatian travelers noted that the dialect spoken in Castroville was more like that which was spoken in the 1840s. The descendants of the original settlers worked diligently to preserve their language, whose usage in Europe has been diminished by the political actions of France and Germany, especially since World War II. The Steinbach Haus (originally built between 1618 and 1648 in Wahlbach, Alsace) was dismantled and reconstructed in Castroville in 1998. It was opened to the public in 2002. Castroville is a sister city of Ensisheim (Alsace) in France.

Cibolo is a medium-sized city located in the state of Texas. With a population of 29,249 people and three constituent neighborhoods, Cibolo is the 164th largest community in Texas. There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Cibolo, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Cibolo, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Cibolo&rsquo;s real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation.&nbsp; Cibolo has a rich history in the development of south Texas. Cibolo is located in the extreme western corner of Guadalupe County in south central Texas. Situated along Farm Market Road 78 and north to south along FM 1103, and paralleled by two major interstate highways, IH 10 to the south and IH 35 to the north. The City of Cibolo is within easy access of Seguin and San Antonio. Cibolo lies approximately 13 miles east of the San Antonio metropolitan area. Cibolo is part of an area known as the Metrocom, the Northeast corner of Bexar County and the Southwest corner of Guadalupe County. The sister cities of the Metrocom include Universal City, Schertz, Selma, Live Oak, Gardenridge, Converse and Kirby. In this area you will also find Randolph Air Force Base a major pilot training facility for the United States Air Force. Today, Cibolo is quite different from what it was in the early 1900s. Cibolo is home to a diverse group of people. As a result of the military base and Cibolo's location, many business and industries have located in the Cibolo area. Cibolo is now awakening to the challenges of the future. In fact, the housing industry has been booming in Cibolo for several years. Cibolo is a charming city that provides a "country-style" way of life. Cibolo is a "City of Choice."

Cibolo

Converse is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States, 15 miles (24 km) northeast of downtown San Antonio. As of the 2010 census it had a population 18,198.[4] It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2017, Converse proposed the annexation of twelve square miles of territory near Randolph Air Force Base in northeastern Bexar County. Several large commercial areas are included in the annexation. The additional land would be taken in a series of phased expansions until the year 2033. Once completed, the area of Converse would triple in size. Municipal services would become available to an often neglected part of the county.[5] The San Antonio City Council has unanimously approved the annexation; now the measure goes before the Converse City Council and the county commissioners.

Denver Heights

Dignowity Hill was San Antonio&rsquo;s first exclusive residential suburb. The area was settled by Dr. Anthony Michael Dignowity, a physician and Czech immigrant, who built his family home on a hill to the east of town and called it Harmony House. During the latter part of the nineteenth century, Dignowity Hill, as it became known, was home to prominent San Antonio merchants and business owners who constructed large estates. Dignowity Hill was an exclusive and affluent residential area in San Antonio due to its high elevation, proximity to downtown, the size of the lots, and lack of city water, which required residents to construct expensive water collecting systems.
